DENVER — Even though Nikola Jokic loves to pass, his teammates wanted to see him get selfish. After some prodding, the young center obliged, then delivered a career night.

Jokic had a career-high 41 points, Will Barton and Paul Millsap scored 17 apiece and the Denver Nuggets beat the Brooklyn Nets 112-104 on Tuesday night.

Jokic also had 12 rebounds, five assists, two steals and two blocks. He is the ninth player in NBA history to have those totals to go with 41 points and at least four 3-pointers.

He left the game early in the fourth still shy of his career high of 40 points set Feb. 10 against New York but returned late in the fourth. He scored two quick buckets and then fouled out, but only after his teammates gently encouraged him to shoot.

“If you pass the ball, the ball will find you at some point,” Jokic said. “You don’t need to be selfish. When you have the open shot, just take it.”

The Nets starters couldn’t match Jokic’s output. The five combined for 40 points and watched from the bench as Jokic outscored them with his four points late in the game.

“He went out there and put on a show,” Barton said. “When a guy’s rolling like that, you want to see him keep it going and get as many points as possible.”

Tyler Zeller came off the bench to lead Brooklyn with a season-high 21 points. Only three Nets were in double figures. D’Angelo Russell had 12 points a night after scoring 23, and Timofey Mozgov scored 11.

“I don’t think we had the requisite juice. The execution wasn’t good,” Brooklyn coach Kenny Atkinson said. “It was like we were walking in mud in everything we did.”

Jokic scored in bunches, and each time he helped Denver extend leads. He had 11 points in the second when the Nuggets led by 13, and he scored 14 more in the third to help push the lead to 86-61.

Brooklyn went on a 13-4 run in the final 2:59 to make it a closer game.

GIVEAWAY DAY

The Nets committed a season-high 25 turnovers, which led to 27 points for Denver. They had just 16 turnovers in the win over Phoenix on Monday night.

“Turnovers were such a big issue tonight and then we came out a little lackadaisical and no energy,” DeMarre Carroll said. “I thought our defense was pretty good but we kept turning it over and they got easy offense.”

Nuggets guard Gary Harris was the most disruptive. He had a career-high six steals against Brooklyn.

“That’s what Gary does,” Nuggets coach Michael Malone said. “He is a guy that can be physical and get to you and blow up the offense, and he did that tonight.”

TIP-INS
Nets: F Rondae Hollis-Jefferson was out with a right hip contusion suffered in Monday’s win at Phoenix, and F Trevor Booker missed his third straight game with a sore lower back. Atkinson said Hollis-Jefferson will be evaluated Wednesday.

Nuggets: Barton tied a season high with eight rebounds. … The Nuggets have used the same starting lineup for all 11 games this season. … Denver has won three straight against Brooklyn. … The Nuggets have two games left on their season-long six-game homestand.

Authentic NBA Stitched Utah Jazz Jerseys China Supply

SALT LAKE CITY — Lonzo Ball accepted blame for Jazz rookie Donovan Mitchell’s momentum-changing, one-handed putback dunk and the Los Angeles Lakers’ eventual 96-81 loss to the Utah Jazz on Saturday night.

“Put this loss on me,” Ball said. “We were coming back. Two dumb plays by me, and they got up.”

Ball, the Lakers’ No. 2 overall pick, was held to 9 points, 4 assists, 2 rebounds, 2 steals and 5 turnovers. It was the first time this season that Ball failed to post at least 7 rebounds in a game.

Ball and the Lakers fell behind 31-16 at the end of the first quarter but were within six late in the third, when Mitchell came flying from the wing on an Alec Burks’ missed 3, catching and throwing down the rebound with a thunderous, one-handed putback dunk that electrified the Vivint Smart Home Arena.

Lonzo’s Lakers slowed down in Salt Lake City
Lonzo Ball wasn’t the best rookie on the floor, as Donovan Mitchell had his best game of the season at the Lakers’ expense.
Ball was in position to grab the rebound, and no one boxed out Mitchell, who had a running start. Ball then threw a turnover on the ensuing play, and that led to a Mitchell 3-pointer that pushed the Jazz lead back to 11 heading into the fourth. The Lakers got no closer than five after that.

“That was my fault,” Ball said of the Mitchell putback dunk, which Lakers coach Luke Walton said swung the momentum. “If you think about it, that kind of changed the whole course of the game. … I should have boxed him out. Then I threw the turnover.”

Ball struck a more defiant and determined tone on Twitter after the loss.

While Ball has arguably had the most attention and hype around him in this draft class, Mitchell was the best rookie on the floor Saturday. The 13th overall pick, Mitchell made nine of 16 shots and had a career-high 22 points to lead the Jazz (3-3).

Ball rediscovered his outside shot, making three 3-pointers after shooting 1-for-14 from behind the arc in his previous three games.
The Jazz did the best job of any team thus far this season keeping Ball off the glass and limiting his assists as well. His two rebounds were a season-low, and his four assists tied his season low.

It has been a tough stretch of games for the Lakers rookie, who turned 20 on Friday. Ball and the other Lakers’ starters sat out the final 3 minutes, 42 seconds of a 101-92 loss to Toronto on Friday at Staples Center after Walton was upset with his starters for not getting back on defense.

“Definitely can improve a lot,” Ball said of his play. “I think I had nine points and four assists. It’s not enough when I am going like that.”

“That’s just a big team, man, to be honest,” Ball said of why he wasn’t able to make an impact in rebounding and assists like he normally does. “[Rudy] Gobert, he is very hard to keep off the glass. Favors as well. They were around the rim constantly, kind of picking up everything.”

Wholesale NBA Brooklyn Nets Jerseys From China

Free-agent center Tyler Zeller has agreed to a two-year deal with the Brooklyn Nets, league sources told ESPN.

Zeller, 27, was one of the top remaining free agents on the market. He’ll compete for minutes behind the Nets’ expected starting center, Timofey Mozgov.

The deal is guaranteed for the 2017-’18 season, and non-guaranteed for the 2018-’19 season, league sources said.

Zeller joins the Nets after three seasons with the Boston Celtics. In five NBA seasons, which included his first two in Cleveland, Zeller has averaged seven points and 4.4 rebounds. He had his best pro season with the Celtics in 2014-’15, averaging 10 points, 5.7 rebounds and playing 82 games.

Zeller was the 17th overall pick in the 2012 NBA draft, and won a national championship at North Carolina in 2009.

Orlando Magic shooting guard and Houston native Jonathon Simmons said he had to “ride a boat, walk through muddy water and ride on the back of a dumpster truck” to escape from the city’s flooding caused by the effects of Hurricane Harvey.

Speaking to the Magic’s official website, Simmons detailed how he prepared for and ultimately escaped from the storm that caused massive flooding in the Houston area and beyond.

Rockets owner reportedly ups aid as help grows
Rockets owner Leslie Alexander, who originally donated $4 million to Hurricane Harvey relief efforts, has instead reportedly upped his pledge to $10 million as more aid comes in from all corners of the sports world.
Simmons said that he left his high-rise condo in the area to go to a friend’s house in Richmond, Texas, on Saturday and packed enough items to stay there for three days, but more friends who were flooded out of where they had holed up joined Simmons’ group.

“So that gave us another 11 extra people and most of them were kids,” Simmons explained. “We had to let the kids eat first, so most of the last two days it was kind of rough [without food].

“There was at least 20 people in the house and probably eight of them were kids,” Simmons said. “When I was little, my mom always kept the fridge full of stuff [during hurricanes]. This time, I ate a pack of Ramen noodles and that’s all for like a day and a half.”

Though their lodging in Richmond was never flooded due to the house being on a hill, other homes in the neighborhood were, and Simmons and his friends had to wade through flood waters to get out of the area. Simmons said he hasn’t been back to his condo and doesn’t have his car with him.

After two years with the San Antonio Spurs, Simmons signed as a free agent with the Magic this offseason. He said he’s heard from Spurs general manager R.C. Buford, Magic coach Frank Vogel and various teammates.

“It’s devastating,” Simmons said of the storm. “Luckily, none of my family was seriously affected, but I see a lot of my friends suffering and that’s difficult. But I’m also proud of how the city of Houston has come together to help one another. On the upside and the brighter side, there’s that seeing how people have been there to help one another.”

Elite NBA Stitched New York Knicks Carmelo Anthony Jerseys Cheap For Sale

New York Knicks president Steve Mills wrote a lengthy blog outlining his vision for the future of the club but made no mention of Knicks star Carmelo Anthony, whom New York is looking to trade.

“Our plan to become more youthful and athletic is underway with 22-year-old Kristaps Porzingis, the return of Tim Hardaway Jr., 25, Willy Hernangomez, 23, and with the debut of our 1st round draft pick, Frank Ntilikina, just 19,” Mills wrote in a blog on the Madison Square Garden website.

The Knicks have made it clear that they’d prefer to trade Anthony, who has a no-trade clause. The 32-year-old veteran has been willing to waive that clause, with his top priority as of earlier this month being a trade to the Houston Rockets, per league sources.

The Knicks and Rockets have been unable to come to an agreement after re-engaging on trade talks earlier this month, per ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski. Members of the Knicks organization are holding out hope that Anthony will widen his list of potential trade destinations as training camp approaches, per sources.

Mills said in July that the Knicks want to do what’s best for both the organization and for Anthony, acknowledging that the club had discussed trade scenarios involving the 10-time All-Star with other teams.

Mills also said then that the Knicks would be committed to building around a young core whether or not Anthony was on the team.

Anthony said this month that he was at “peace” with the uncertainty surrounding his situation in New York, and he was unsure if he’d be back with the club this season.

Mills wrote in his blog on Friday that the club would emphasize a selfless, defense-first approach going forward that will be led by younger players. He credited young players like Ntilikina, Porzingis and Hernangomez with recently changing the atmosphere around the Knicks, who have missed the playoffs for the past four seasons and have been the subject of embarrassing on and off-court storylines.

“We will emphasize ball movement, body movement, spacing and screening, while understanding that these changes will be a work in progress,” Mills wrote. “We may not be there at first, but that’s the brand of ball our players will aspire to fulfill.”

Mills then referenced the young group of Ntilikina, Porzingis, Haradaway Jr., Hernangomez and Ron Baker once again in his blog, writing: “These players, still young, intent on enhancing their games, engaged in a common objective, are already altering the atmosphere surrounding the club.”
In his blog, Mills echoed many of the thoughts he presented during a press conference in July introducing general manager Scott Perry. The entry is worth reading for Knicks fans interested in hearing how the new regime plans to approach team building.

Mills wrote that the Knicks would be committed to restoring “the pride, work ethic and accountability that comes with playing in New York.”

“Dogged defense. Crisp, unselfish ball movement. Scraping for loose balls. These will be our hallmarks,” he added.

It seems like a sound rebuilding plan for a franchise that has been plagued by instability since the turn of the century, winning just one playoff series in the past 17 years.

The Knicks in the past have been guilty of chasing after big names rather than committing to a slow, painful rebuild. Will the club under Mills be different? Based on what he wrote on Friday, that seems to be the plan. We’ll find out soon enough if it can be executed.

Authentic NBA Womens Ryan Anderson Houston Rockets Jerseys Cheap China 2017

The New York Knicks and Houston Rockets have re-engaged on trade talks involving 10-time All-Star Carmelo Anthony, with the Rockets again canvassing third-team trade partners to construct a deal, league sources told ESPN.

Anthony remains steadfast that he only plans to waive his no-trade clause for the Rockets and refuses to expand his list to include more possible destinations, league sources said.

How a blockbuster trade could unleash ‘Team USA’ Melo
If the Knicks and Rockets reach a deal, Carmelo Anthony would instantly become the second or third option in Houston — a move that could turn him into the best version of himself.
Nevertheless, no pathway has emerged for a deal directly between the two teams, and finding a broader package to include forward Ryan Anderson and the three years and $60 million left on his contract remains problematic, league sources said.

Houston and New York made significant progress on a deal when Phil Jackson was Knicks president, but that changed with the hiring of new general manager Scott Perry, who has been far more particular about the package he’d want in return for Anthony.

The Knicks remain willing to start training camp with Anthony, 33, on the roster, and a real scenario exists in which the Rockets and Anthony remain patient that a deal could have to wait until the regular season is underway, league sources said. The Knicks want to trend younger, building around Kristaps Porzingis and Tim Hardaway Jr., and Anthony playing a significant role could stifle their development.

Houston wants Anthony to join a lineup with James Harden and Chris Paul primarily to make a run in the playoffs together, and an in-season deal could still give them ample time to build chemistry for the postseason. Anthony and Paul are close friends.

Portland has kept an interest in Anthony, with Damian Lillard and CJ McCollum continuing to recruit Anthony to consider the Blazers as an alternative to Houston, league sources said.

The Knicks have become willing again to make an Anthony deal before the start of training camp in September, especially after Anthony made it clear that the franchise’s hopes of getting him to embrace a return to the team — after months of Jackson’s pushing for Anthony to waive his no-trade — are fruitless.

The Knicks paused trade talks involving Anthony shortly after the hiring of Perry in mid-July, but they were unable to convince Anthony to reconsider his desire to be traded away — or add more teams to his wish list, league sources said.

Anthony had an earlier interest in waiving his no-trade for Cleveland, but that desire waned with Paul’s arrival in Houston and the upheaval surrounding Kyrie Irving’s and LeBron James’ futures with the Cavaliers.

Basketball New York Knicks Michael Beasley Jerseys Cheap For Sale

The New York Knicks have signed former No. 2 overall draft pick Michael Beasley to a one-year deal, the team announced Tuesday.

League sources told ESPN the deal is for the veteran’s minimum, which is $2,116,955, according to ESPN’s Bobby Marks.

Beasley, originally drafted by the Miami Heat in 2008, averaged 9.4 points and 3.4 rebounds in 16 minutes per game last season for the Milwaukee Bucks. He shot a career-high 54.5 percent from the field while taking 7.3 shots per game.

The Knicks are Beasley’s sixth team in 10 seasons.

It is unclear where the 6-foot-9 Beasley will fit on the Knicks’ depth chart. If the organization executes a trade of Carmelo Anthony, Beasley could play significant minutes at small forward for New York.

With Ramon Sessions also officially signing his deal, the Knicks have 15 NBA contracts on their roster and one player — Luke Kornet — on a two-way contract. Unless they release a player, New York will have room for just one more two-way contract.

Basketball LA Clippers Danilo Gallinari Jerseys Cheap Custom 2017

After landing a punch in a European exhibition game for Italy, LA Clippers forward Danilo Gallinari suffered a right thumb injury that isn’t expected to require surgery, league sources told ESPN.

Gallinari will miss the Eurobasket tournament for Italy but is expected to be fully recovered for the start of the Clippers’ training camp in September, sources said. Clippers doctors are planning to examine the injury soon, but the initial diagnosis calls for a month of rest and rehabilitation on the thumb, sources said.

Gallinari, 28, slugged the Netherlands’ Jito Kok in a scuffle, causing the injury that sent him to a local hospital.

Gallinari signed a three-year, $65 million deal with the Clippers in July, moving from the Denver Nuggets in a sign-and-trade agreement.

Kyrie Irving expressed a willingness to return to the NBA Finals with LeBron James just two months ago. Paul George was nearly a Cavalier. Now, Irving’s trade demand has thrown Cleveland for yet another loop this offseason.
Cleveland not only allows Rose to contend for a championship, but it furthermore provides Rose the opportunity to play near his hometown of Chicago.

Additionally, in the wake of the news that Kyrie Irving wants out of Cleveland, a starting point guard spot could be up for grabs. Provided Irving secures his request, Rose’s partnering up with LeBron James could keep the Cavaliers afloat as a contender.

Rose has communicated with James through the process that led him to the Cavaliers, league sources told ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.

Rose, 28, met with the Los Angeles Lakers for nearly three hours on Thursday, sources said.

The Lakers tried to entice Rose to sign with them, suggesting they can offer more playing time and money in a better environment after his tumultuous 2016-17 season with the New York Knicks.

The Lakers believed that Rose, who had been working out at L.A.’s practice facility lately, could help the development of their rookie point guard Lonzo Ball, the No. 2 pick in the NBA draft.

Rose averaged 18 points, 3.8 rebounds and 4.4 assists on 47.1 percent shooting — his best percentage since the 2009-10 season — in 64 games for the Knicks last season.

Rose also met with Milwaukee Bucks and Los Angeles Clippers.

Knicks’ next move? Free agency, Melo take priority over president search
The Knicks are focusing on free agency at the moment instead of finding Phil Jackson’s replacement. Here’s a look at where things stand.
The Knicks are assembling a list of candidates they’ll speak to. That process is ongoing, but Griffin has had an initial conversation with the Knicks and is expected to have more talks when the team moves to the next level of the process, sources said.

In addition, the team is not expected to ask for permission to speak with Toronto Raptors president Masai Ujiri, sources told Shelburne.

The team announced Wednesday morning that it mutually agreed to part ways with Phil Jackson as president.

The Knicks completed a disappointing 31-51 season in April and missed the playoffs for the fourth straight year. They were 80-166 in Jackson’s three full seasons as team president, losing at least 50 games in each of them.

Griffin was Cleveland’s GM for three seasons and helped the Cavs to their first title in the 2015-16 season.
